so.. as happy as i was to start college, all it has brought me is work work WORK! lol, its worse than high school... well, only the amount of work. its mostly buttloads of reading and papers and yeah... so yeah...

i will not be on dA much at the moment....

you may say, "how is this different than any other time you grace us with your lazyness and say why you cant upload stuff?"

and i answer "its different because i have art to do and promises to keep and ideas to go off, but i have no fricken time to do any of it."

at the moment, my deviations list is at 172, and i have 74 messages (some of these i can skim through when i have a spare moment before class starts, like now, but other than that.... nope)... for those that dont know me i have this thing about keeping those numbers close to 0... i used to look here every day, fav the ones i like, close them out to make room for more, and read all my messages. seeing the numbers, you can tell i have had a few setbacks. i will get to them as soon as i can.

if there is a random deviation from me, then consider it a lucky one. i probably wont be doing much of anything till my 6 week winter vacation starts in november around thanksgiving.

soooo, its summer, and a few things i wanna say!

1) ive finally graduated high school and am getting ready to go to college... looking forward to that :]

2) summer does mean more art, however, like always, it will just be a little random as far as how much i submit it.. lol

3) take the time to revisit past friends and events/memories you like. it can be very refreshing :]

so, as you can tell, ive been adding a looooot of different things lately... like, its nothing like my original deviations from when i first joined... i hope you guys dont mind it.. ^_^;; its just i have no time to do my own things when i need to do other art... but i hope to get more of my stuff going again :] although, i must say that i enjoy all the projects i get. its a great way to learn different things :]

also, i wanted to know of your opinion on something! a project i did in my digital arts class was an impressionistic portrait of myself... so, i ended up digitally painting my senior portrait. because of how we are taught to do the project, it looks sooo much like a real painting, but in reality, its not traditional painting. just a really really well done project that anyone can do... if they have patience. so, i guess what i wanna know is...

1) should i post it, even if its considered to be an "imitation" of a real painting?

2) do you guys really wanna see the picture anyway, or will another random pic thats nothing like i normally do just make you wanna pull out your hair?

ooo, and just so you know, ive been working with Carrara (a 3d-modeling program), so you will get to see some projects i do with it (random ones too ^_^;;; )

on to more news, im sure you have gotten the new contest
"deviantwear Design battle 2009" in your messages thing. after looking through the different things you can submit and getting an overall overview of what they want, i think that they want something that describes what, exactly, dA is. and well, since i read the recent post about "art theft" on dA, i had a pretty good idea of what my entry would be if i decided to partake in this (which im not).
NOTE: if you havent read the article, then you wont understand where im coming from. here is the link =>[link] also note that im not saying im pro plagiarism, or i promote art theft. i simply do not agree that they claim that people who partake in submitting fanart are "artists who lack the experience and training to compose completely original scenes and themes from scratch" and that "when it involves a fandom it tends to be viewed as a cheap and guaranteed way to get popular with little actual effort". so yes, my entry would be something like this...

a place for snob artist
that condemn fanartists
and claim they have no talent

what a great place, nya?
